INTRODUCTION:

PITAC was formed in 1962 as an Autonomous Body and included in Schedule-II to the Rules of Business, 1973. It is registered under Societies Registration Act 1860.

PITAC is Non-Profit / Non-Commercial Services Oriented Organization which provides, skill development services & technical education to the industrial personnel and underprivileged youth of the Society and Technical Assistance / Advisory Services to SMEs & Individuals. The detail of the core functions of PITAC is as under:

i) Technical Assistance and Advisory Services

ii) Skill Development & Technical Education Services

iii) Entrepreneurship Training and Development Services

The Headquarter of PITAC is situated at Lahore and its Regional Centre(s) are situated at Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Mirpur (AJK) and Gilgit Baltistan.

VISION:

PITAC envisages in its vision to “Achieve Efficient, Sustainable and Inclusive Industrial Development” and encourage entrepreneurship especially by SMEs, to boost economic value and job creation to overcome economic growth.

MISSION:

To upgrade, advise, disseminate and extend assistance & skill development in technical and managerial fields to individuals and organization throughout Pakistan.

RULES OF BUSINESS:

Schedule-II to the Rules of Business, 1973.

POLICIES AND PLANS:

  1.  Expansion in Academic Building of PCT in PITAC premises.

  2.  Up-gradation & Modernization of CNC Machine in Plastic Moulding Departments.

  3.  Revamping of PITAC Foundry Shop.

  4.  Transformation of PITAC College of Technology into Technical University for BS Technology Program.

  5.  Revitalization of PITAC by induction of modern manufacturing technology.

  6.  PITAC as Trade Testing Authority.

  7.  Qualification Development as per competency base training & assessment model in collaboration with NAVTTC.

  8.  Execution of “skill for Job” for skill development of underprivileged youth in collaboration with Punjab Skill Development Fund Govt. of Punjab. (Fully Funded).

  9.  Renovation & Up-gradation of Engineering Drafting hall & Basic Training Shop.

  10.  Purchasing of Solidworks Pro Software.

  11.  Execution of Recognition of Prior Learning Program (RPL) through NAVTTC to certify experienced workforce.

  12.  Working with NAVTTC as “Trade Testing Centre”.

  13.  Establishment of Auto Workshop with E-Vehicle Technology.

  14.  Establishment of Artificial Intelligence Lab.

  15.  To start DAE Programs in Die, Mold Design & Manufacturing.

  16.  Collaboration with International Development Partners for Technical Assistance & Financial Support.

  17.  Expansion of Entrepreneurship Training & Development Department (ETDD) to Regional Centre(s) to train young professionals for their own startups.

  18.  Acquiring of 3D Scanner (Ferro-arm) to enhance Product Development and Reverse Engineering Capabilities of PITAC.

  19.  Procurement and installation of CAD and Analysis software.

  20.  Acquiring of blow molding machine for effective management of in house blow molding process and trial Shot.

  21.  Procurement and Installation of CNC Router.

  22.  Procurement and Installation of Induction Furnace.

  23. Capacity Enhancement of Heat Treatment shop through retro- fitting of existing machines with new technology.

  24.  Procurement of Large Bed Surface Grinding Machine.

  25.  Replacement of out dated wire cut machine in NC shop by procuring new one.

  26.  Procurement and Installation of ERP Software for store inventory.

  27.  Super Finishing of Engineering Products, Precision Parts, Prototypes & Production Tooling (Incl. Dies, Molds, Jigs, Fixtures, Precision Inspection Gauges etc.) – In Nos..

  28.  Technical Expert Services (TES) Program - APO, to enhance the capability / technical knowhow / innovative technology of Pakistan’s industrial sector.

  29.  Common Facilitation Centre in main Industrial cities/areas of Pakistan.

  30.  Incubation Centre may be established in collaboration with Universities.
